Maybe the Way For Student Clubs To Execute Social Media

How Signal Club deliver our social media
Signal Club is a student club at Swinburne Vietnam, working to offer Swinburne students a safe zone to freely practice and experiment in media and communication production.
At Signal Club, we create a young community of shared aspiration and self-development. By that, we aim to reflect the student life at Swinburne Vietnam, and to represent the voice of youth in Hanoi.
Student clubs at universities in Vietnam are usually known to execute youthful and creative content for their social media. However, they also often show a lack of systematic and stable performances, as well as a tendency to blindly follow trends and to present cliché content, which causes the inconsistency in their long-term branding and coverage.
The following are a list of social media content made by Signal Club, describing how we maintained a branding of originality and constancy, to attract audience and to stand out among numerous student clubs at Swinburne Vietnam.
As a member and then the Head of Content Department at Signal Club, I personally widely contributed in the conceptualization and execution for below initiatives.
1. Content for Special Occasions
It is currently very common for any social media personas to create special content  on special occasions like holidays of New Year, Christmas, Women's Day, etc. These were golden timing to reach to your audience, but also a challenge to stand out among a huge quantity of content.
Given the context of university, the occasions are even more abundant, with namely semester breaks, deadline and test seasons, or enrollment seasons.
At Signal Club, for each special occasion, we always highly invested to deliver new content and concepts, while still implanting trademark brand features, to differentiate from numerous similar and cliché content on social media.
2. Trends and Inside Jokes
In the contemporary time, it is even more crucial to follow a trend than to create content for special occasions. Trends presents the same chance and challenge as special occasions, it whether greatly attracts audience and causes saturation from too many content.
Accordingly, Signal Club tried our best to carefully select and to quickly follow the trend, with utilization of inside jokes to also provoke a sense of relatability among our target audience.
3. Media Support
Given the university context, social media accounts by student clubs are surely an effective channel for events and programs to reach their target audience of students. However, a media support post usually does not result great engagement statistics and demands intensive seeding from club members, which damages their social media performance.
Rather than reposting provided materials, Signal Club would usually be a little more extra to create a new and independent content for each media support. While it demanded more time and effort, it would pay off with a win-win situation both for the partner's coverage and for our engagement rate.
4. Social Media Campaign
The pandemic was an example of situation where Signal Club could not meet up to produce our regular projects. The team then decided to deliver social media campaigns as fillers to maintain an active coverage, and also to create relatable content for audience during these hard times.
Our Season of Love campaign, created to encourage love during hard pandemic time
Our series for Tết 2022, worked as a filler for the lack of club projects
